Konstanz, May 23, 2001 - Hyperstone announced that customers already have built compact flash memory cards (CF-cards) with 512 MByte capacity. The cards are equipped with 4 pieces of 1 GBit Flash memory chips that are controlled by Hyperstone's flash memory controller F1-8X.
Sampling of these cards so quickly after the introduction of 1 GBit flash memory chips to the market has only been possible because of Hyperstone's flexible approach to adapt to next generation flash memory chips without changes in the hardware of the controller.
Underlying in Hyperstone's compact flash memory controllers is the company's proprietery 32-bit RISC architecture as a core. This provides enough software flexibility and performance for present and next-generation flash memory card products.
