E-CAM主要利用Hyperstone新的32-bit RISC/DSP處理器hyNet® S, PCB size只有6 x 5 cm.藉由SND自行開發的網路操作軟體HyNetOS® , 攝影機可用非常低的成本達到卓越的效能.由於JPEG壓縮VGA檔可以透過IP連結以全影像速率(25 frames/sec.)傳送,較小的格式甚至可用更高的frame速率傳送.利用特定影像轉換協定,單一影像及連續Motion-JPEG影像流可透過乙太網路介面從遠端PC得到. 除了較著名的JPEG影像壓縮,也可使用其他影像處理運算法,如圖纹辨識.因為高效能的Hyperstone 32-bit RISC/DSP晶片,所有演算法都能在攝影機上執行.由於HyNetOS® 有許多協定,歸檔系統及其他不同周邊設備的硬體都能提供成為標準配備或附加的配備,如此一來,也可給予應用程式設計師更多彈性. 由於E-CAM擁有極高效能及透過FTP檔案傳送來更新韌體的特色, E-CAM可適用於多種網路攝影機應用,包括建築物保全系統,交通控制,生產流程監控,圖纹及形狀辨識,動作偵測及分析,臉部辨識及其他一般目的安全應用.
