Digital still cameras (DSC) are an entirely solid state replacement for conventional film, giving immediate pictures without chemical processing. They also provide the opportunity to entirely rethink the shape of the camera. The search for increased resolution, high speed operation and ease of use requires powerful image processing within the DSC.
Among others, the companies HP (PhotosmartTM 620, 618, 612, 320, 318, 215), Kodak (EasyShareTM CX 4230, CX 4300, CX 4200, CX 4210) and Polaroid are selling digital cameras powered by Hyperstone RISC/DSP processors. These cameras are excellent examples for using Hyperstone RISC/DSP processors in multi media consumer electronic products.
